It’s a day for showing those we care about a little love, be it a card or a phone call, candy or flowers, maybe a favorite dinner with a nice table setting. On the other hand, it may be just another day that adds one more thing to do on an already busy day. I guess I have been in both circumstances, but fortunately, even if I couldn’t get out much, or I wasn’t flush with cash, I still managed to think ahead enough to buy some Valentine Hershey kisses wrapped in red and silver, a minor fun way to put a little extra thought and love in a lunch bag (when we still packed school lunches), and a plain white napkin with our kids’ names written on it in a simply drawn red heart.

When I had the shop or a booth, I loved going all out for Valentine’s Day, probably because I LOVE red and it was a chance to show it off. Notice all the buffalo check and red plaids on the wall in the background, another favorite! I think we also served special treats that day.
As difficult as it sometimes is with the frantic pace so many of us are living , it’s so important to have a few days in our busy schedules to let our loved ones know we think they are pretty special.
